How to edify your team leaders

(You should always "edify" your prospect & your team leaders)

HOW TO PROPERLY INTRODUCE YOUR GUEST & YOUR LEADER

Here’s the rule you should memorize: “Edify UP, Trust DOWN, and then MUTE.” This means:

  • You speak highly of your leader.

  • The more credibility your leader has, the more your friend will listen.

  • Then you mute and let the leader work.

Here’s what a partner should actually say when their leader comes on the phone:

"Darryl, this is my good friend NAME. Name & I go way back. He’s super sharp, hard worker, great family guy, and when I thought about who would really appreciate wholesale travel and an extra stream of income, I thought of him/her."

In other words, say something brief and thoughtful about your guest. They will appreciate this more than you know.

Now, you introduce your leader:

“Name, this is Darryl. He’s one of the top income earners and leaders in the company, he knows this business inside and out, he LOVES  helping people travel more, better and for less, and he’s been a big help to me. I wanted to connect you two so he can......(pick one or two from the list below or give an actual solid reason):

  • Better answer your questions and help you see how this might fit you OR

  • Welcome you to the team OR

  • Give you more clarity with some of your earlier questions you asked

"Name, meet Darryl & Darryl, meet Name..."

After that, you, the Partner should STOP TALKING (go on mute). Once you hand your leader the ball, do not grab it back. Your leader will now ask questions, clarify, and do what they do best:

  • Welcome them to the Team (If they are ready)

  • Prove to them you are well-connected

  • Duplication: Your New Partner will see they can do this too

  • Answer all questions

  • Move that prospect to a decision or next step in the follow-up process (another zoom/event, a recorded video, etc.)
